Stitched Fiberglass Fabrics are ideally suited for selective reinforcement. Fiberglass is bundled and stitched together, rather than woven, so there is no crimp in the yarn. As a result, these reinforcements offer optimized directional strength for their finished composite parts. For this reason, they are popular in the wind energy industry.
These fabrics are ideal for wet lay-up and the infusion process, where fast wet-out and strength control are key—they're meant to be used with resins to create hard, composite parts and are compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy.

In addition to optimized directional strength, parts made with stitched fiberglass will boast good resilience and a unique ability to absorb forces like pressure and tension.
Stitched fiberglass is available in unidirectional, bi-axial, and tri-axial options, meaning fibers are bundled and stitched in one, two, and three directions respectively. Fiber orientation and weight will determine which fabric you select.
